[:es]The Aragonese family business Zoilo Ríos Group is to build its first Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) filling station under its own brand in Zaragoza, capital of northeastern Spain’s Aragon region. The company is confident in the growth of demand for alternative energies such as CNG, LNG and hydrogen, which will be added progressively to its offer.
The Zoilo Ríos Group, founded in 1927 and celebrating its 90th Anniversary, has planned major expansion, said general director, Zoilo Ríos, and Marketing and Commercial Manager, Ana Sierra, at their Zaragoza headquarters. The first gas station, which includes new guarded parking for trucks, will be in Villanueva de Gállego.
This year, Zoilo Ríos will also start construction of what will be its first own-brand petrol station, the Los Ibones service station. It will incorporate alternative energies such as liquefied natural gas (LNG) and CNG, both of low emissions and increasingly used for all forms of transport. Located at the entrance to Zaragoza, it will provide services to a growth area of the Aragonese capital.
In the opinion of Zoilo Rios, “the Zoilo Ríos Group is living an important moment, because we have just celebrated our 90th anniversary and we are launching an expansion plan aimed at our network reaching 20 service stations in 2020, contemplating a progressive incorporation of alternative energies such as electric recharge, hydrogen, CNG, LPG and propane, all of them with less environmental impact”.
In addition to incorporating CNG and LNG, the company will continue to participate in innovative projects such as the “Hydrogen Corridor for the Pyrenees Region “(H2PiyR) included in the European cooperation program POCTEFA 2014-2020, whose main objective is to develop a cross-border corridor of refueling stations for hydrogen vehicles that connects Spain, France and Andorra with central and northern Europe.
